SEEIN' RED / MIHOEN! - split 10" LP

Finally out, the long awaited pairing of two bands that have played a defining part in shaping the European DIY scene of the past 2 decades. MIHOEN! sadly called it quits in 2008, but SEEIN'RED are still going from strength to strength, continuing to ensure uncompromising political rage remains at the core of the diy punkscene, as they have done throughout their 30+ year involvement in all their current and previous bands (LÄRM, MANLIFTINGBANNER, STAATHAAT, KRIEGSTANZ etc.). If there ever was a time where these kind of voices needed to be heard, this is it and whether still on stage or from the grave, both bands will continue to inspire people around the globe to question and resist the right-wing political capitalist machine currently tearing the world to pieces. Fittingly, with most of it's content aimed at their own country's politicians, all lyrics on this record are in Dutch, reminiscent of Seein’red’s classic mid 90s "Trefwoord Punk" ep, underpinned throughout with the two bands’ trademark ultra fast blistering raw hardcore punk attack. It’s often said that great music is created in bleak and desperate times and this is easily some of the absolute best stuff both bands have ever committed to vinyl (and that's saying something!). D.Boon coined the phrase "punk is what we made it to be" - and both Mihoen! and Seein'red ensure(d) it’s something that remains relevant, angry, fun, vital, sincere, diy and unapologetically political, all the while retaining a good sense of humour and a belief in the ultimate attainability of a better future.
