TROPIEZO / LA VIRGEN DEL POZO 7"EP

"While I'm hardly a specialist in punk hailing from Puerto Rico, this split EP has an urgent, underground sound thanks to the simple production and frantic mid- '80s punk flavor- at least with the clutch of songs from TROPIEZO; it's uniformly strong and accessible. On the other hand, LA VIRGEN DEL POZO is closer to grindcore, with white-hot guitar over a backdrop of throat-destroying vocals; it's intricate, but extremely effective, and highlighted by the amazing "Mi realidad es una pesadilla..." Both bands offer real winners. Highly recommended." (Maximumrocknroll)
